Photo Tinting Challenge

Description

I started out with the original color photo and changed it to sepia. Then I took a copy of the same original photo, changed it to black and white except for the eyes and layed it over the sepia copy. I adjusted the opacity of the black and white photo to about 56 to let some of the warmth from the sepia photo below to come through. Then I used Emma Schonenberg's floral embellishments/paper pack to jazz up the rest of the page except for the white trim around the photo; that came from Amy Sumrall's Funkarooni embellishment pack! I also used a white rectangle, adjusted the opacity way down and used it to soften up the black paper. In addition, I used a scratchy black overlay to give the paper a worn-in, comfy, vintage look! I really had fun working on this week's challenge!

I am in love with this one!!!! This is sooo pretty.... I have wanted to do a picture like this with keeping my daughters eyes blue aswell but the rest in black and white. How did you keep your daughters eyes blue? I am dying to know!

Thanks for the nice comments! I tried 2 different methods to keep the eyes blue. The first method was taking 3 of the same photo, changing one to black and white and then carefully cutting the eyes out of the other 2 colored photos and placing them over the eyes in the black and white photo. This was really tricky because the eyes are not perfectly round! I had better luck using an old version of Adobe Photo shop! It was still tricky but I worked on it quite a bit til I had it just right!

Let me clarify something: The final project is the one on the left. The one on the right that I just posted was created entirely using Memory Mixer. Taking 3 photos, turning one to sepia (not black and white), and then cuttng the eyes out (using the cropping tool) of the other two color photos and placing them on top of the sepia photo. I then used a lavender rectangle, reduced the opacity and used it to tint the photo in hopes of making the blue eyes pop out even more. It turned out nice but I was happier with the outcome of the photo I fixed in photoshop, so that is the one I used to create my final project! So there you have it! Maybe memory mixer will come out with a version that will make creating this effect easier!
